Growing up, my family had brown-eyed girls and blue-eyed boys. To me, that was what was normal. Then I met Scott. He had brown eyes and his mom had blue. That was totally backwards. But, I always wished I had blue eyes so I figured I might end up with a blue-eyed girl – if [...]  
My mom, sister and I have only tried a few times to do a “girls’ trip” and there is good reason for that. When my mom and I travel without dad, nothing works out for us. One day I’ll tell you the story of the week we were in DC together.
We like to consider ourselves outdoorsy and campers. Our girls have their own fishing poles. Scott gets a fishing license every year. Many years he even gets a duck hunting license. When Scott and I were dating, really early on we invested in waders so that I could go duck hunting with him. (Don’t worry, I never [...] Oh how I wish I were the mom with no “mother’s guilt” but I do suffer from mom guilt. While I think about some of my wonderful guilt-free mom moments, I would like to share with you a mom that doesn’t ever seem to suffer from “mother’s guilt”. Her name is Stephanie and [...] I look around at all of the mothers and fathers that I know. I look at them and wonder if they are truly “happy” in their life and their situation.
