Meet Amy

I have struggled with the answer when asked, "What do you do?" and it isn't work-related. Ultimately, we settled on that I find things and untangle things. But I also read (a lot), pretend to wake surf, and watch Hallmark films.

The Weekend Away
it was amazing
So so good! Orla and Kate are long-time best friends off on a girls' weekend away. Kate is a bit of a player who is trying to get back at her soon-to-be-ex, causing her to spend frivolously and do drugs and hook-ups. Orla is a new mom ex...

Maybe Next Time
really liked it
Parts were a screaming 5 and parts were like “what?” And just irritated me. It is a Groundhog Day premise about a family of four - the mom is caught up in her own life and missing all that is going on around her with her kids and then he...

A Family Outing - LDS Conference Center

Three are many beautiful and historic things about Utah, but we don’t tend to focus on the historical nor religious very often. We tend to spend more time enjoying the Outside beauties of Utah. But this past weekend, we decided to go historical and religious.

We went and took the tour of the LDS Conference Center.

The conference center is breath-taking, and when you are on the top row of the top balcony, it is breath-taking in more ways than one.  The girls were absolutely amazed by the sky lights, the garden on top of the center and just how big the actual conference hall is.

After the tour we stopped and took a few pictures of the Salt Lake Temple.

Some days the girls forget that they are supposed to be there for one another, and they’ll argue and screech at one another.  Jade will tease Ivy and Ivy will scream just because she can.  But on this day, they did an awesome job of looking out for one another, helping each other and sharing adorable and sweet smiles with one another.   My favorite picture of the day was when Jade took Ivy’s hand and asked her to go by Jesus again so that He could see them again.

  • A really extremely intriguing write-up! I’ll try to track that continues here! Thank you.

I love seeing pictures of the girls being sweet together. When the Conference Center was first built I actually got to go with the youth in my stake and plant the gardens on the roof. I still have a piece of granite that I found there!

  • Your girls are adorable!

We’ve taken two Utah staycations in the last couple of years and realized there are some places here very worth visiting–Temple Square and the Conference Center being among the best. The Church museum across the street from the temple has some nice kid-friendly exhibits, too.

  • Fun! I haven’t been up to Temple Square in a while.

I think we need to put together a list of all of the cool places in Utah that you need to visit. And then you can do one for me because we must be doing very different things 🙂
